Initial results of the August 7, 2018 Primary were reported at 8:04 p.m. on August 7 by the San Juan County Department of Elections.

Of 13,074 registered voters, 4,555 ballots have been counted. There are an estimated 2,000 ballots left to count

  • For County Prosecutor, Randy Gaylord leads with 2,257 votes or 55.58%,  over Nick Power with 1,804 votes (44.42%)
  • In the newly-vacated Legislative District 40 State Representative Position 1, Debra Lekanoff
    with 1,680 votes or 41.4%, leads Alex Ramel with 769 or 18.95% of the vote. Note: in multi-county races such as this one, results here include only San Juan County
  • For U.S. Senator (29 candidates), County Voters have preferred Maria Cantwell with 3,062 votes or 70.05% over Susan Hutchison with 779 votes or 17.82%.
  • For U.S Congressional Representative, Rick Larsen, at 2,826 votes or 68.38%, leads his next closest rival, Gary Franco, who garnered 359 votes or 8.69%.
