One day ! A notice to the public that a special meeting to discuss an important topic related to the recent termination of Mik Presz as Chief was posted ONE DAY before the meeting.
The bad news is that State law only requires posting notice of one day for such a meeting. However, the OIFR Commissioners should show some deference to the community regarding an interest in attending a meeting on this topic which has significant implications going forward. Too, the meeting is at 10am; good luck having working class citizens join that discussion.
Wes Heinmiller is the newest Commissioner. He should begin to put his “mark” on the Board’s proceedings.
I agree with Ed Sutton on this. One day’s notice for a special meeting regarding a topic many are concerned about? The Fire Commissioners really dropped the ball on this one. It almost seems as though they wanted very little or no public attendance at this meeting – otherwise, why not more notice??
