Applications for San Juan County’s Public Facilities Finance Assistance Program grants or loans may be filed with the County Administrator’s office until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2010.
More than $218,000 is available for distribution this year. Qualifying “public facilities” include such things as bridges, roads, sanitary sewer facilities, buildings, telecommunications facilities, ports, etc. The facility must be listed as an item in the County’s economic development plan or the economic development section of the County or town’s Comprehensive plan.
The program is funded by a .09 percent sales and use tax.
