For two nights only, Orcas Center audiences will celebrate World Music Day, all for the benefit of the Funhouse. For the fifth year running, Martin Lund will host his fantastic One World Music Festival on June 19 and 20.

Lund’s jazz-based musical variety show is one of Orcas Center’s most popular summer music events, bringing together the island’s best musicians and top-notch talent from beyond the islands, all to support The Funhouse.

This year’s theme is ‘Fête de la Musique!’, also known as World Music Day, which is celebrated in over 100 different countries. The line-up includes local performers such as Martin Lund, Gene Nery, Willy Thomas, Grace McCune and master drummer Tony Morales.

Off-island talent features the Lopez Sound a cappella group and “violinist to the stars” David Wilson. The show is a huge hit every year and both nights sell out, so don’t wait ’til the last minute to get your tickets!

For the first time ever the Funhouse is also making available a  limited number of special seats. Those who donate $75 or more may si tat a French Café table right on the stage along with the artists during the performances.

The evening will begin with a fête/party at 6:30, and the curtain will go up at 7:30pm.

All net proceeds from the concert go to The Funhouse, a non-profit organization whose mission is to help the children and families of Orcas Island.

Tickets for Fête de la Musique! are $24, $20 for Orcas Center members and $12 for students, and are available at the Orcas Center box office and at 376-ACT1 .
