The Evergreen State is back on schedule from earlier law enforcement activity.

UPDATE: 3:21 p.m. from WSF —

The Evergreen State’s 2:20pm inter-island sailing from Friday Harbor is delayed approximately 50 minutes due to earlier law enforcement activity. This will delay the 3:10pm sailing from Shaw, the 3:25pm sailing from Orcas, and subsequent interisland sailings. Updates will occur as information becomes available.

UPDATE: 11:40 a.m. from Undersheriff Bruce Distler —

At approximately 11 a.m., dispatch received a call concerning an out of control woman on the Evergreen State Ferry.

Responding deputies met the ferry and were informed of a suspicious device in the vehicle driven by the involved female.

The ferry has been evacuated and the San Juan Fire Department is on scene. The law enforcement on-scene commander is in contact with the WSP Bomb Squad.

More information will be released.

After further investigation it was determined the plastic fuel containers contained stereo speakers which were attached to the wires coming out of the cans.

It was determined this WAS NOT an explosive device.

The Evergreen State’s 11:35am inter-island sailing from Friday Harbor will be delayed until further notice due to law enforcement activity. This will impact the 12:20pm sailing from Shaw, and the 12:40pm sailing from Orcas.
