The subject of Richard Fadem’s new class is Dante’s Inferno, in the Mark Musa translation, Penguin (available at Darvill’s). The class meets Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Senior Center, beginning March 24 and will continue for seven meetings.

Fadem says, “If we’re fortunate, we’ll set foot in the Purgatorio but surely not make it to the Paradiso. The charge (about $25.00) is simply the cost of renting the space with, it’s hoped, some surplus for the English program at Orcas High School.

“There’s about a half-hour break; no attendance, no essays, no exams, no grades. Learning–entirely for its own sake. ”
