Eric Youngren, off the grid in Africa

Eric Youngren, off the grid in Africa

An all-ages evening at The Funhouse Commons will support the construction of a solar PV system to empower a computer classroom in Haiti run by of Orcas based non-profit, Helping Hands Noramise. The evening will raise money for Youngren’s upcoming trip to Haiti to help install a photo voltaic (PV) system at the site of Helping Hands Noramise’s educational center. All donations, which are tax-deductible, are welcome.

Eric Youngren will be showing slides and telling stories of his African solar adventures with Solnexus International and the plan to bring Orcas-made off-grid solar technology to Haiti and the rest of the planet. To read more about Eric’s work, go to globalwa.org

He will also talk about the new solar PV system that was just installed on the roof of the Funhouse Commons building and the current state of economics and technology for grid-connected solar power here in OPALCO territory.

Yummy desserts of all types will be available for purchase to support the project in Haiti. For more information about Helping Hands Noramise, go to https://noramise.org
