Greg Ayers current chair, announced his resignation from the Eastsound PlannIng Review Committee (EPRC) county advisory group at its monthly meeting on December 1.
The group currently consists of Ayers, Fred Klein, Bob Maynard, Jeff Otis and Dan Vekved. It already is looking for an additional member, who is appointed by the County Council.
UDATE: Orcas Issues received the following statement from Greg Ayers: “Just wanted to clarify I resigned as chair. I will serve out the remainder of my term as a member of EPRC. The committee asked me to help make a transition period which I agreed to.”

For years the EPRC has been the leading voice for the careful development and growth of Eastsound and has almost always had the benefit of a few feminist voices in the careful planning of the central core of Orcas. Please make sure that the next appointment reflect the voice of half the population – please. We spent hours and hours on roads, parks and amenities that make it a lovely waterfront village for Orcas–don’t let it become a parking lot as the island continues to grow like Topsy!.
