UPDATE: 11:36 a.m., April 10, 2014
San Juan County Sheriff’s Office reports that 911 service is now up and running. Seattle media also report that the outage is restored statewide. CenturyLink is responsible for all 911 service in the state. They have issued no press release, as of this time, as to what caused the outage. There also was no initial statement from CenturyLink that the service was down.

As of 2:40 am, Thursday, April 10, 2014 there is a statewide 911 outage. San Juan County 911 is also out, and residents of San Juan County should call the following number for 911 emergencies: (360)378-4141. This number is for emergencies only.

Inter-island communication on regular lines has not been affected, and only 911 service is out. CenturyLink is aware of the problem on a statewide level, and is working to resolve the problem. However, at this time there is no estimate on when 911 service will be restored.
