The San Juan County Economic Development Council (EDC), the state- and municipality-funded agency working to assist small businesses and startups in San Juan County, announces its move to a new location in downtown Friday Harbor.

“Moving to our new location will put the EDC right at the heart of the business district of Friday Harbor, and will enable us to hold office hours on Orcas and Lopez,” stated EDC director Victoria Compton.

The EDC’s new location will be at 60 North First Street, above Bison Gallery. Starting in March, the EDC will also begin holding office hours on Orcas and Lopez.

Additionally, the EDC announces two new board members: Lance Evans of the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce, Gary Franklin of Windermere San Juan Island, and Michelle Loftus of Animal Inn Pet Lodging & Wellness Center. Officers for 2011 are: Jim Hooper, Board President; Cathy Cavanagh, Vice President; Bruce Gregory, Treasurer.

Please call 360-378-2906 or email info@sanjuansedc.org for more information on EDC office hours or services.
