Title of Position: Economic Development Program Assistant
Job Description: Plan, organize, develop, implement, oversee and review economic development programs and activities.
Involves: Organize and coordinate a wide variety of business workshops. Analyze regional and local economic data and identify potential problem areas and prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings, solutions and recommendations. Research grants and learn grant writing process. Research, prepare, conduct and analyze complex studies and surveys.
Represent the organization at various meetings and discussions concerning the role of the EDC in economic development. Involves: Attending seminars and training programs related to assigned work; prepare and make presentations on local and regional economic development efforts, to civic and business organizations; participate in a variety of projects in support of the EDC and participate in gathering and evaluating data used in grant applications and other projects.
Assist in management of economic development office. Involves: answering phones, scheduling; getting mail, procuring office and workshop supplies; completing forms and reports of other agencies; ability to quickly learn software such as QuickBooks; extensive knowledge of Office software, particularly Excel (pivot table knowledge preferable); some knowledge of social media marketing sites; ability to interface pleasantly with the public, flexibility and an ability to thrive in a sometimes high-demand, fast-paced environment; the ability to self-start, direct and complete tasks; other varied office management tasks as needed.
This is a .4 position that may increase to 1.0 by January, 2017.

Education: Bachelor’s degree + work experience.
