— from Paul Kamin, Eastsound Water —
In the first five months of 2020, Eastsound Water has sold 9% less water compared to 2019. Water use in the first three months of 2020 was very similar to 2019. The decline began following Washington’s March 25 “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order.
The decline can be directly traced to a reduction in commercial water use. Commercial use in the months of April and May has been down 56% compared to 2019.
Residential use has been relatively stable since the Stay Home, Stay Safe order.
