How does EPRC have time to review all this in one day? Are they advising the planning department on this? How long does the Public have to weigh in on any of these permits?
Regarding vacation rental permits: When the Growth Management Acts MANDATES that 54% or more of our population MUST live in Eastsound, and “vacay rentals” are prolierating like mold spores while people are living in their cars and on the street because they can’t afford some sh*thole rental for $500 and upwards that doesn’t even have running water – HOW can we consider allowing even one more vacation rental or air B & B in this town, using that as an excuse to deforest the rest of it and keep our mid-to lower people homeless and unable to afford living here? How can we face our workers who must leave the islands because they can’t afford to stay? Too many questions; no straight answers.
Please if you would, fix the link for the 12,000 (!!!) gallon fuel tank – that one is important for all of us to see. Is it a good idea to allow any above-ground bulk fuel storage (the “old” Sub Area Plan said that all fuel tanks above 500 gallons MUST be undergrounded). For an example of a huge violation of this, observe the huge fuel tank right next to Eastsound Swale Creek at Craftsmen Corner – that some of us nearby concerned apartment residents fought – it was never supposed to happen. Please stop allowing this, and other, bulk fuel storage tanks in a UGA.
