Thursday October 20, 7 p.m., Eastsound Fire Station

— from Cindy Carter —

The Eagle Forum of SJC will be hosting an Initiative Information meeting on Thursday, October 20th at 7 p.m. at the Eastsound Fire Station. There are six statewide initiatives on the ballot this fall ranging from the ever-present and ever-rejected, carbon tax to an initiative demanding that our Congressional representatives sponsor a Constitutional Amendment. What are they about? Join us for a community conversation.

We will begin our meeting with a pie and potluck social at 6:30 p.m. and we have also invited Matthew Hayward from the Freedom Foundation to speak. Matthew has worked inside government for the Department of Agriculture where he supervised and helped coordinate efforts between federal and other state agencies, tribes and volunteer organizations around the Puget Sound.

Matthew has been passionately engaged in politics since 2007 and is experienced at building coalitions, training and organizing volunteer activists to maximize their effectiveness. Matthew is also a small business owner.

Join us for a fun, engaging and informative evening Thursday night.
