Saturday, June 9, 8 a.m. registration, 9 a.m. start at Orcas High School

Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Services (DV/SAS) of the San Juan again sponsors a 2 5K run/walk, to be held on Saturday June 9 at the Orcas High School. Encouraging the public to “Be the Solution: Challenge Abuse and Change Lives,” the Orcas DVSAS office asks participants to set up teams to win a special prize for their support of DVSAS of the San Juan Islands.

There will be awards for the top three male and female finishers, and to the top finishers in each age category:

  • 15 and under
  • 15-19
  • 20-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49

The run is sponsored by Island Market and DV/SAS.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. at  Orcas High School, with a race start time of 9 a.m.

The registration/entry fees are $15 for participants aged 19+ years, and $10 for 18 and under.

The course is relatively flat and all on paved roads or gravel  trails. The race will start and finish in front of the school making one huge loop around town, down North Beach Road and finishing at the school.
