The Cancer Survivorship Group will meet at the Community Church Fireside Room on May 10 at 5 p.m. Our guest speaker, Dr. Vinent Shu, will present information about the craving cancer has for sugar, the so-called Warburg effect: the metabolic requirements of cell proliferation. Dr. Shu will present scientific data. A better understanding of the mechanistic links between cellular metabolism and growth control may ultimately lead to better treatments for cancer.
Our support group is for anyone touched by cancer, whether yourself, a family member, friend, caregiver or in any other capacity. If you, or anyone you know, is dealing with issues related to cancer, please come and join the conversation. Finding out how others manage the special problems that cancer brings might help you find ways to cope with the problems that come along for you.
There will be an opportunity for everyone to share. Le0’s support each other by finding courage for the journey, joy in the healing, and in hope for the future. Join us at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 10. Call Bogdan at (760) 613-3101 for more information.
