from Orcas Celebrate Recovery
Our struggles do not need to become our identity. We all experience hurt, habits and hang-ups. Sounds like “life” doesn’t it?
“A year ago, a man walked into my office, broken, at his wit’s end, with a heart full of despair. He was angry and trying to cope with a host of substances and other unhealthy habits that were destroying his mind and hardening his heart. The man I met a year ago is no more. In his place, a new leader has been born. That’s what I call a true miracle-the transformation of a human life”. (Adapted from the Celebrate Recovery Devotional).
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered Recovery Group that meets every Tuesday evening from 5 – 7 pm in the Family Center of the Community Church. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. You can bring a friend. Dinner is provided. If you need a ride, just let us know. Listen to what others are saying about themselves and the transformation through believing in a higher power, Jesus Christ. Your past doesn’t need to define you. With God, all things are possible. Explore the possibilities.

I came to C.R. to help a friend, but discovered after a while that I have a very hard time asking for help; forgiving myself and others. As a Christian, I had to take a hard look at my unwilliness to trust others or to trust God! While I do not have a drug or chemical dependenance issue, I struggled with aniexty and not feeling good enough.
My experience in Celebrate Recovery is to experience some of the joy that comes with having “friends” who I can share with and get honest support as well as share victories. I love the spiritual growth, worship music and open share groups.
