Thursday March 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Eastsound Fire Hall

— from Chris White for the Orcas Lions —

On this third Thursday of March, your local Lions Club and our Fire and Rescue [team] sponsor your donation of lifesaving blood. Tiny Orcas with its high proportion of repeat donors provides a tenth of regional need for donated blood for that day.

And we need more donors.

So we are changing! New tablets to speed registration, one hour earlier start time and new scheduling so you can get in/out when you want to. And! Miss Kat’s Orcas High students are making us cookies for the canteen, calling out reminders, and handing out fliers. . in addition to donating. You should join them. Could even be fun.

As promised, the six-hour window for donation has been moved one hour earlier to 11:00 AM so more hard working islanders can get in on their “Noon” hour. Many new appointment slots available, they’re going like hotcakes. Or just stop by.

Go to the “Sign In/ Register*” page at the Bloodworksnw.org site any time or call 1-800-398-7888 during business hours.

Bring your lunch, we provide the soda. We’ll provide registration instruction.[And fresh cookies!]
If you are new to Orcas or visiting and unfamiliar with the Metropolis of Eastsound, the Fire House is just north of town, across from the Port of Orcas Aerodrome er, airport. Walk-ins/fly-ins welcome.
