“If one is seeking a great meal, at a great restaurant, for a great cause, then this dinner cannot not be missed.”  That was the comment of  Tad Sommerville following last year’s Benefit Dinner for the Funhouse/Commons at Doe Bay Cafe.

This year  the “sumptuous” four-course dinner, prepared by Chef Abigael Birrell will again feature local seasonal delicacies, with perfectly matched individual wine flights for each course. Lullaby Winery of Walla Walla will provide the featured wines.

The proceeds from this special event benefit the Funhouse Commons. This elegant $75 per person prix fixe dinner (optional wine flight is $20pp) features the wines of Lullaby Winery’s owner/winemaker Virginie Bourgue.  A native of France, Virginie studied viticulture in Avignon and then received her Masters in Enology in Champagne. Virginie’s wines are made in an “old-world” style, meaning she is very focused on creating wines with an elegant balance of acidity, fruit, minerality and alcohol level. She will be featuring a Viognier-Roussanne white blend, a light Grenache rosé, and a beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon.

Lullaby’s Winemaker Virginie Bourque will be on hand to tell guests about her winemaking philosophy and discuss each selection.

All proceeds from the dinner on Friday, Oct. 21 benefit the Funhouse Commons, a registered non-profit. Costs for the dinner is $75 per person; Wine Flight $20 person.

Call to make a reservation at 376-8059. For more information about the Funhouse Commons, go to www.thefunhouse.org.
