||| FROM JIM DUFFIELD for ORCAS RECYCLING SERVICE |||
Orcas Recycling Service/The Exchange is working with Skagit Habitat for Humanity (SHFH) to offer a one-time opportunity to donate items The Exchange cannot accept.
Examples of what SHFH potentially can take that The Exchange cannot:
- Large furniture (sofas, chairs, dining room sets, bed frame without mattress, etc.)
- Large exercise equipment
- Large appliances
- Kitchen cabinetry
We highly recommend contacting SHFH prior to bringing your items to the truck. All items must be in good working condition, and the SHFH driver has the right to refuse any items that do not meet standards, or that arrive late.
- Call or email Michael at SHFH: 360-899-8950 / michael@skagithabitat.com to discuss your items with him
- You may be asked to send him photos
- Michael will let you know if he thinks he can take your item
- On Tuesday, August 2nd, bring your approved items to the parking lot of the Eastsound Fire Station between 2 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
If for some reason you are not able to send your items on the SHFH truck, consider advertising your item through the ORS Donor-2-Owner program. Simply stop by The Exchange during business hours (Thurs-Mon from 10am-4pm) and fill out a Donor-2-Owner card. You will need to provide a photo of the item, a brief description, and your contact info. The Exchange will post it on our Donor-2-Owner bulletin board. The item stays with you, and you handle the transaction – but The Exchange will help you find a home for it!
