District Court and Prosecuting Attorney to relocate during courthouse renovations

Both offices are temporarily relocating from the historic courthouse to 545 Park Street to allow for structural renovations being funded through a matching grant from the Washington Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation

District Court and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office are moving out of the historic courthouse to allow for structural renovations. The “seismic retrofit” will improve the safety of the building in case of an earthquake, and it is funded through a matching grant from the Washington Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation. Construction is estimated to take 9 to 12 months. While this work is being done, both offices are temporarily relocating to 545 Park Street. All other courthouse departments will remain in the building during construction.

District Court will be moving on Wednesday, September 16^th, and will reopen at the 545 Park Street on Thursday, September 17^th. The Court will be closed on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 to facilitate the move. Electronic filings received on 9/16 will be considered received on Thursday, 9/18.

The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will be moving on Thursday, September 17^th. Please note that due to the open nature of the temporary work area, the Prosecutor’s Office will not be able to accommodate the public in its office during this time.
