Transportation Research Board of the National Academies sponsors Webinar: The Effects of Aviation Noise

TRB will conduct a webinar on May 29, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET that will cover the potential effects of aviation noise on hearing, sleep, health, annoyance, and learning environments. Webinar presenters will discuss the noise concerns that present potential barriers to airport operations and expansion, and how those concerns can contribute to delays in both facility and capacity improvements. Participants must register in advance of the webinar, and there is no fee associated with this webinar. This webinar will provide 1.5 Continuing Education Units for Accredited Airport Executives.
Webinar presenters will discuss the concerns over the effects of noise that present potential barriers to airport operations and expansion, and how they can contribute to delays in both facility and capacity improvements.

PART 3: Question and answer session: The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions.

- Discuss the known effects of aviation noise and where further research is needed; and
- Explain how this information may affect aviation noise policy.
