Artist David Densmore and his work

“Toward the Luminous Land,” a show of new oil paintings by David Densmore, will be featured at the Orcas Island Artworks through the month of August.

Densmore was a member of the Artworks cooperative gallery from 1988 to 1998, showing wood and copper sculptures and jewelry. He is now best known for his plein-air landscape paintings, many of which are done by moonlight. His new paintings focus on the fleeting atmospheric effects that change the landscape we think we know into something magical and luminous.

The Artworks is open daily from 10 to 6.
