At the Seattle Seahawk’s Nov. 1 game, it was announced that Orcas Island High School’s Dennis Dahl is one of the two week nine’s NFL High School Coach of the Week award winners for the state of Washington.

The crowd at the Oct. 30th league contest between the Orcas Island Vikings and the host Darrington Loggers observed Orcas Island’s football squad thwart Darrington by a count of 35-8 to win the NW League 2B championship.

The Vikings will play Napavine for the State 2B League Championship this Saturday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. in Mt. Vernon

The NFL High School Coach of the Week award winners in Washington State are selected by members of the Washington State Football Coaches Association.  Recipients of the award receive a $500 donation for their football program from the Seattle Seahawks and a $100 savings bond from Sterling Savings Bank. At the conclusion of the high school football season one coach will be selected as the NFL High School Coach of the Year for the state of Washington. The NFL High School Coach of the Year receives a $2,000 grant.
