The official ribbon-cutting ceremony to herald the renovation work done — on time and in budget — on the Nellie S. Milton Elementary School will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 8:15 a.m.
The renovation, completed by University Mechanical with funding provided by a Federal Department of Commerce grant and a bond approved by the Orcas Island School District Board, replaced plumbing, lighting and ventilation systems at the school.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, school will begin. Parents of all new students, grades K-12 are invited to a “New Parents Tea” in the School Library, hosted by the Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA).
