I was so moved by the rapid response of Councilman Rick Hughes and The San Juan County Sheriff Dept. when I called them the other day to ask for a public meeting. I encourage all to attend. Thanks again!
This is great to see. Even though I don’t live on the island, I vacation there frequently and consider orcas to be a special place. I made a few suggestions to the San Juan preservation trust to improve security at the north Turtleback Mtn trailhead: wildlife video cam. Signs that indicate high car prowl area and area under video surveillance. Also clearing the brush between the parking area and Crow valley road will improve visibility.
Thank you to all involved in this meeting.
I’d like to put out a call to request that Ron Krebs be there as well. I understand that he will not officially be Sheriff until January, but I fail to see what good will come of *only* having Sheriff Rob Nou in attendance since he’s only Sheriff for, what, 23 more days??? I though a goal of this meeting is to instill confidence in out community…?
Please help ask that Mr. Krebs be in attendance as well. Call the non-emergency phone number for San Juan County Sheriff and request to leave Mr. Krebs a message.
