Event postponed until 2021
— from Jule Treneer for Orcas Island Lit Fest —
It is with great sadness that we must announce that we are canceling the 2020 edition of the Orcas Island Lit Fest. Due to Governor Inslee’s prudent decision to ban all gatherings statewide of more than 250 people to impede the spread of the Covid-19 virus, we are postponing our festival until next year.
We know the festival brings much joy to many in the Orcas community as well as to our many visitors and guest artists from across the Pacific Northwest and around the country. First and foremost must be our concern for the health and safety of the community and our festival attendees.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this unprecedented situation as we work through many the implications of this cancellation. Please bear with us while we explore the mechanics of the ticket refund process with our payment processor.
The Orcas Island Lit Fest looks forward to announcing the date for our 2021 festival in the coming weeks.
We are so grateful for the continued support of our many stakeholders. We know this decision holds a good deal of disappointment for us all.

Darn! I was looking forward to the opportunity to interact at length with Timothy Egan, one of my favorite opinion writers. Maybe next year . . .
