The San Juan County Council will conduct an Early Start Special Meeting on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in the Legislative Hearing Room, 55 Second Street, Friday Harbor beginning at 9:00 AM. Special Meeting Agenda item: Discussion and possible action on Orcas Transfer Site Vendor Selection and Discussion of San Juan Site Vendor Selection Committee. The Special Meeting is scheduled to be videoconferenced on Orcas and Lopez Islands at the Public Libraries from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Council’s regular meeting agenda will follow and begin at 10 a.m.

Following a lunch recess, the Council is scheduled to reconvene at 1 p.m. for a Discussion and Motion to Approve Improving Shoreline Permitting Effectiveness Grant – Linda Lyshall, Marine Program Coordinator, followed by a resumption of Public Hearings.

At 2:45 p.m. the following County Administrator Items will be reviewed:

  • Consider Proposed Ordinances Modifying the Solid Waste Excise Tax (2nd touch) – Ed Hale Utilities Manager; Jon Cain, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney;
  • Approval of Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan [public comment accepted]- Liz Illg, Coordinator;
  • Discussion of the Council’s 2013 Legislative Priorities [public comment accepted] – Lovel Pratt, Council Member.
