The Orcas Island Garden Club welcomes Dan Heims, President of Terra Nova Nurseries, freelance writer, and worldwide speaker on Wednesday, April 17 at 10 a.m. at the Orcas Center. Dan will offer a talk called Container Crazy and Plants for Small Gardens. Dan’s trips around the world have exposed him to an amazing array of wild containers planted with many unusual plants. Dan will cover these, plus a wide assortment of unusual plant materials that give new life to containers. Tips on how to design containers and small garden spaces, as well as helpful information on maintaining soil fertility and plant health will be presented.
The Orcas Island Garden Club welcomes new members and encourages gardeners, landscapers, farmers, and those who love nature to enjoy this month’s presentation. After the presentation, visitors are encouraged to stop by our membership table and become a member of the garden club. All attendees may socialize, share gardening info and advice, and enjoy treats in the social hour following the meeting.
