Wednesday January 15, 9:30-11:30, OICF
— from Hilary Canty for Orcas Island Community Foundation —
Did you know that there are over 100 nonprofits serving the Orcas Island community? Their focus ranges from social services, housing, and healthcare to the arts, sciences, and recreation. They all benefit from having a skilled board and chances are you have been asked to consider serving on a Board for one (or more!) of these nonprofits.
The Orcas Island Community Foundation (OICF) is hosting a workshop for individuals who want to learn more about nonprofit Board service. Content will be geared towards those who are new to Board service or who are considering future service. Topics will include rules and responsibilities, how to assess organizational culture to assure a good fit, understanding financial statements, and more.
9:30-11:30, Wednesday January 15 in the Volk Family Meeting Room at OICF, 33 Urner St. There is no charge for the program, however seating is limited, so please RSVP to megan@oicf.us or call 360 376-6423.
