— from the Orcas Island Community Foundation —
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?'”
Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on the King Holiday to serve their neighbors and communities.
The Orcas Island Community Foundation (OICF) will host the 2014 MLK Day of Service on Monday January 20th. Using the Eastsound Firehall as “homebase” we will invite neighbors and community members to join between 12 noon and 4 pm to work on community projects – projects we hope you will provide.
If you have a project, please send the following info by Friday, Jan. 10 and we will advertise it in our materials:
- Organization Name
- Location of work to be done
- Person who will be available on location as contact
- Email & phone contact of person in #3
- *Short* description of work and list of tools requested (work gloves, rake, etc.)

If you have questions or need further information, contact OICF at 376-6423 or kate@oicf.us.
