Nonprofit “Board Boot Camp” is just around the corner!
Board Boot Camp is an intensive three hour introduction to skillful nonprofit board service. With more than 100 nonprofit and service organizations on Orcas, chances are you have been asked to serve on a board (or five.)
Hosted by the Orcas Island Community Foundation, Board Boot Camp will identify key roles and responsibilities, increasing the likelihood of a productive experience, and enhancing the organization’s ability to make a difference.
The event is open to all interested community members, either currently serving or considering joining a board, working for nonprofits, or merely interested in how nonprofits can work most effectively.
Board Boot Camp will run from 1-4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, at the Eastsound Fire Hall. The fee is $10. Please call the Community Foundation office, 376-6423, or e-mail, to reserve a seat.
