||| FROM SAN JUAN COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS |||

The San Juan County Fire Marshal reminds islanders and visitors to exercise caution this 4th of July and to enjoy approved firework shows from a safe distance. San Juan County has a local ordinance banning all fireworks without a permit (Ordinance 2008-28).

Please join firefighters and their families at various public firework shows throughout the islands. This is the safest and most enjoyable way to celebrate our Nation’s independence.

Enjoy the holiday safely by attending a firework display put on by trained professionals at these locations:

  • San Juan Island
    1. Roche Harbor Resort (for resort guests)
    2. Port of Friday Harbor (public)
  • Lopez Island
    1. Fisherman Bay (public)
  • Orcas Island
    1. Eastsound (public)
    2. West Beach Resort (for resort guests)
    3. Deer Harbor (July 3rd) (public)

The health and safety of the community remains the utmost priority and we hope everyone has a safe 4th of July celebration.
