On Sunday, Jan. 18, from 3-5 pm at the Emmanuel Parish Hall in Eastsound, there will be a community event celebrating the life and  legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The event promises some deep sharing, reflection, discussion, and music to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and legacy, and to help guide us as we move forward in this new year and turbulent time. The Parish Hall is on Main Street, just to the left of the outdoor labyrinth.

All are welcome to bring a thought, sentiment, memory, story, poem, excerpt from one of Dr. King’s speeches, or a song to share.

Admission is free. Any donations will benefit:
World Beyond War, the Orcas Island Food Bank, and Emmanuel’s monthly Dinner Kitchen

Refreshments will be provided, and more are welcome.
