Sharon Abreu and Michael Hurwicz hosted a community concert celebrating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the legacy of legendary folksinger Pete Seeger, as 2019 marks the 100th anniversary of Seeger’s birth.
Pete Seeger used his voice in support of the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. He was also a leader in the Labor, Peace and Environmental movements. Pete dedicated his life to social justice, peace, and understanding between people of all cultural backgrounds. Born on May 3, 1919, Pete passed away in January 2014.
