The San Juan County Council Chair and District 2 representative will hold a meeting with the community to discuss the County budget and related fiscal challenges at the Orcas Island Library Community Room from 4:00-5:30 p.m.

San Juan County Council Chair and District 2 representative Justin Paulsen is hosting “Community Budget with County Council Chair Justin Paulsen” – an opportunity to hear the outline of how the County budget works, ask questions, and discuss solutions together.

  • Topics planned for discussion include:
  • Pressures related to the General Fund;
  • Various revenue options; and
  • Details and changes to the 2027 budget.

The upcoming gathering will take place on Orcas Island on Monday, September 14 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the Orcas Island Library Community Room located at 500 Rose St in Eastsound. This will be the first of three events scheduled throughout the month of September on Orcas Island, San Juan Island, and Lopez Island, respectively.

“I look forward to meeting with the community to discuss the County’s existing budget situation and the fiscal challenges that lie ahead. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and share your ideas and priorities about the 2027 budget building process and how your tax dollars are spent,” said Paulsen.
