Every Tuesday, 7:30 – 9 p.m., Odd Fellows

— from James Seehof —

Ecstatic Dance is a worldwide movement with gatherings in many communities and countries. Orcas Ecstatic Dance is open to locals and visitors alike. Facilitators create play lists to inspire. Individuals meet to experience the joy of movement. Showing up as your true self and having the courage to dance in whatever way feels natural to you. No one is expected to have any particular experience or skill level.

Orcas Island Odd Fellows Hall has a large, beautiful dance space overlooking the ocean. Conveniently located within walking distance of Eastsound, it is the ideal location to host this gathering.

Ecstatic Dance is a drug and alcohol free event. Please arrive by 7:30 and plan to stay until 9:00 as the music is choreographed to build and subside, creating a total experience. Picture and video taking is discouraged as is talking during the dance.

Ecstatic Dance is what you make of it,
a freeform movement space where:
dance expands, spirit activates
boundaries melt, boredom ceases
creativity breaks out
hope happens, beauty flows
communities collaborate, harmony resonates The beat deepens
as an electronic tapestry
of world rhythms
weave us together
as individuals
within a greater family.
