||| FROM ANNE PRESSON for ORCAS ISLAND HOSPITAL DISTRICT |||

Since early 2020, the County’s Public Health Department has been providing care to every islander for COVID-19 related issues. During that time, the Department’s staff has had to pause many of their normal programs and activities. Starting July 1, the responsibility to deliver COVID-19 immunizations will transition to providers on each island, and in most cases your primary care provider will be your source for COVID-19 vaccine and testing.

The San Juan County Vaccine Team will be operating single-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine clinics on Orcas throughout the next month. After June, islanders wishing to be vaccinated will need confirm vaccine availability with your local healthcare provider or pharmacy.

While walk-ups are certainly welcome, those who are able to register in advance are encouraged to do so. There is no cost and these clinics are for those 18 years-old and up.
