— from Kate Mikulak for Coffelt Farm Stewards —

Kate Mikulak joined the Coffelt Farm Stewards as Executive Director in July. Kate has been passionately working with locally produced food on Orcas Island for the last 6 years. She is excited to bring her love of livestock and vision for sustainable food production to the organization.

The Coffelt Farm Stewards operates a 185 acre working farm in Crow Valley producing island grown fruit and vegetables, grass-fed raw milk, pastured eggs and pork, grass-fed lamb, and beef, sheepskins and wool products. The mission of Coffelt Farm Stewards is to demonstrate sustainable, small-scale agricultural practices, promote environmental stewardship, and provide opportunities for education and research, while honoring Orcas Island’s rural heritage.

The farm stand is open Tuesday–Saturday, 1–5 p.m. Stop by (1071 Crow Valley Road) to welcome Kate and check out the latest island grown food selection. Please feel free to contact Kate at stewards@coffeltfarm.org or (360) 376-3410.

The Coffelt Farm Stewards operate Coffelt Farm which spans the northern reach of Orcas Island’s scenic Crow Valley. The 185-acre mosaic of pasture and marshland fringed with mature conifer forest extends to the lower slopes of Turtleback Mountain Preserve, creating one of the most beloved vistas in San Juan County.
