With 41% of the electorate’s votes tabulated, Clyde Duke leads the three-man race to select the top two candidates for Orcas Fire Commissioner #2, with Duff Andrews 10 points behind. Jonathan Loop trails in third place.
As of Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m., County Elections officials posted the results from the Aug. 18 primary as:
Clyde Duke: 737 votes for 49% of the votes counted
Henry “Duff” Andrews: 501 votes for 33% of the votes counted
Jonathan Loop has earned 241 votes for 16% of the votes counted.
1,500 ballots were cast, and 30 ballots remain to be counted. It thus appears that Duke and Andrews will face each other in the General Election in November.
