||| FROM ANNE PRESSON for ORCAS ISLAND HEALTHCARE DISTRICT |||
The Island Primary Care-Orcas Clinic is hosting a back to school event this Saturday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for families to get kids ready for the upcoming school year.
The Clinic will be providing various services, immunizations and safety checks. This event was developed in collaboration with the Orcas Community Resource Center, Orcas Island Fire & Rescue, Orcas Island School District, and the San Juan County Department of Health and Community Services. Representatives from all of the community partners will be participating at the event.
Details and information on how to make an appointment for specific services can be found HERE.

I was just told by a parent that COVID 19 vaccinations are NOT available.
To help clarify, and in the spirit of making efforts to protect those under 18 years old, we do absolutely have COVID 19 vaccine, Moderna, available by appointment for family members who are over 18 years old. Currently COVID 19 vaccine for under 12 is not available at all, although the hope is that the FDA will approve Pfizer by this fall. The Department of Health is the go to for Pfizer vaccine for kids who are 12 to 18 years old. Here is a link to more information from the DOH County website who held the last vaccine event on Orcas for those 12 to 18 years old: https://www.sanjuanco.com/1737/COVID-Vaccine-Info. If anyone over 18 outside of the families is interested in a Moderna COVID vaccine, please send an email through the website, and ask that it be forwarded to me, or call the access center at either 360-376-2561 or 360-466-3101. We can get you scheduled next Saturday, 8/7!
Thanks for clarifying, Aaimee!
Thank you Aimee, but your poster is misleading, It states “Back to School” vaccines and clearly lists Covid 19. It seems like 18 and over should be in a different category.
