— from Diane Martindale for San Juan Island Museum of Art —

Linda Chowdry has joined the board of the San Juan Islands Museum of Art (SJIMA) and the island community after relocating to Friday Harbor last year.

Of art Linda says, “My small personal art collection brings joy to me everyday. It is a privilege to see the imagination of talented artists translated on canvas and in sculpture. I can track the journey of my life through a lifetime of collecting and remembering why each piece speaks to me, which is a blessing.”

She brings her appreciation and passion for art as well as valuable
experience serving various organizations for more than 25 years. Linda
appreciates the opportunity to serve as a board member because SJIMA
brings important exhibits to the islands and our visitors; acting as a wonderful community resource.

She is mother to four grown children, grandmother to three and recently
became a great grandmother. Linda enjoys travelling with her family, and
considers her permanent residence in the islands a blessing after being a
frequent visitor for years.
