From the Orcas Choral Society
Fresh from a well-received sneak preview of the Choral Society’s spring program at the March 3rd MAG benefit concert, the Orcas Choral Society is putting the final touches on its premiere performance of Mozart’s Requiem with orchestra at Orcas Center on Sunday, April 21st at 2PM. Under the direction of Roger “Wolfgang” Sherman, this spring’s all-Mozart program will also mark one of the very few Choral Society performances accompanied by orchestra. The program also features soloists Sharon Abreu (soprano), Kathryn Weld (alto), Neil Jordon (tenor) and Charles Robert Stephens (baritone). This landmark production will surely be a memorable and satisfying experience for audience and chorus members alike.
With only one performance on Orcas Island, this event is certain to sell out quickly. For ticket information, call Orcas Center (360) 376-2281 or visit www.orcascenter.org. Visit www.orcaschoralsociety.org for information about the Choral Society.
On Sunday, April 28th at 2:30PM, the Choral Society will present the same program at Seattle’s Saint Mark’s Cathedral for those who are unable to attend the single Orcas Island concert. The Choral Society has hired a bus for round-trip transport from the Anacortes Ferry landing to Saint Mark’s Cathedral on Sunday April 28th. With at least 40 passengers, the bus tickets will be $20/person. For bus tickets, please call Becky Greaves at (360) 376-5382.
