True love…false love…maternal love…eternal love… Love of the lover, the country, the child.

Orcas Choral Society celebrates the many kinds of human love in its “Songs from the Heart” spring concert May 6 and 7, featuring special guest stars the Skyros String Quartet and Orcas Island’s own Martin Lund.

“This will be a beautiful concert,” said Marianne Lewis, Orcas Choral Society Artistic Director. “We’re singing pieces from Telemann to Fauré, from Hebrew love songs to English madrigals. I’m delighted that Martin and the Skyros Quartet will blend their instrumental colors with our voices.”

Hear “Songs from the Heart” Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. and again Sunday, May 7 at 2 p.m. at the Orcas Center, 917 Baker Road, Eastsound. Tickets are $15, $5 for students, available from the Orcas Center or from the Choral Society.

As an added bonus, the Skyros Quartet also will offer a concert at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Eastsound, Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m. Admission is free; donations will be welcome. For more information, call the parish office at 376-2352 or go to www.orcasepiscopal.org
