Monday, October 17, 6:30 – 8 p.m., Orcasong Farm, 280 Dolphin Bay Road

— from Sharon Abreu and Michael Hurwicz —

Laurence Cole, song leader extraordinaire from Port Townsend, kicks off the Fall season of the Choirherence Community Choir on October 17 at Orcasong Farm. Laurence, who was one of the inspirations for starting Choirherence, creates and leads magical songs with layered harmonies and subtle rhythms “to nourish the soul and re-enchant the world.”

Choirherence is an all-inclusive community choir that gathers each week for the sheer joy of singing together. All voices are welcome, and no singing experience is required. Join us to sing an eclectic mix of short multi-part songs from near and far. Check out the choirherence.com website for the full season schedule, and for examples of the songs we sing.

Led by Michael Hurwicz and Sharon Abreu, Choirherence usually meets at the Emmanuel Parish Hall, 242 Main Street in Eastsound. The next session after Laurence’s will be on Tuesday, October 25, at the Parish Hall. Drop-ins are welcome. After that, all sessions will be on Monday. Suggested donation: $5-$15 per session. No one turned away for lack of funds.

We believe in heart-centered connection through singing. We also foster connection to self and others through a few minutes of heart-focused breathing and appreciation at each gathering. (This technique, called Quick Coherence™, was developed by HeartMath.)
