Children’s House 2010 Culinary Season presents Seattle’s Jerry Traunfeld on Tuesday, May 25 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Red Rabbit Farm in Westsound.

Join us for a delicious evening of dinner and drinks; the Children’s House 2010 Culinary Season continues with Seattle’s Jerry Traunfeld (owner and chef of Poppy Restaurant and former chef of The Herbfarm from 1990-2007)! Jerry’s inspiration at Poppy comes from the “thali,” a platter served to each guest holding a variety of small dishes.

Poppy’s menu borrows the idea of the thali to present Jerry’s own style of Northwest cooking, highlighting seasonal ingredients, fresh herbs, and spices. It was named a top 10 restaurant in Seattle Metropolitan, one of 50 best new restaurants in the U.S. in Travel and Leisure and made the Condé Nast hot list of 50 top new restaurants in the world, in addition to Jerry’s numerous national awards.

On Tuesday Jerry will prepare soup, salad, entree, and dessert all from fresh spring ingredients. The cost is $125 per person.  Funds raised will benefit Children’s House, an early learning center for Orcas children ages infant through six years old.
