Plans for a fun-filled day at the Orcas Island Children’s Festival are shaping up for Aug. 1st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The grounds of the Salmonberry School and Children’s House on North Beach Road will be transformed into a festive area for Orcas children and island guests to enjoy.

There will be a multitude of activities from craft tents, sandbox treasure hunts, a cake walk to a bouncy house and more.  Live music, story time, as well as family-oriented information booths will be spread throughout the grounds.

Food will be also available at “Dads’ Diner.” A silent auction of goods and services donated by pre-school families will round out the festival.

This event is a collaborative effort between Children’s House, Kaleidoscope, Orcas Montessori School and Salmonberry School.  All proceeds will be shared equally to fund scholarships for their early childhood school programs.

Admission is $5 per person. Admission price includes five tickets to participate in the various games and activities. Additional tickets will be available at $1 each.
