Moana Kutsche, elected Charter Review Commissioner for Orcas Island, announces that the Charter Review Commission started its work on January 7, with representatives from ferry-served islands meeting in Friday Harbor. Gordy Peterson was elected chair of the group and vice-chair is Maureen See.
Meetings on Orcas Island are scheduled for January 21, February 11, March 3 and March 24; meetings will be at the Orcas Hotel from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. “The public is invited — encouraged! — to attend,” says Moana.
Peterson said, “All of the venues have enough space to allow for many people to attend, facilities for the comfort of members of the public, and are accessible to all. Time will be scheduled on the agenda at each meeting for public comment. Written comments may be submitted at any time.
Kutsche, along with Richard Ward and Ron Zee arranged the following schedule of the Charter Review Commission:
