This month’s “Business Essentials” meeting, sponsored by the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce, will take a close look at the new Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

The meeting will begin on Tuesday, March 16 at 7:45 a.m. with coffee; followed by an 8 to 9:15 a.m. presentation at the Victorian Room at the Outlook Inn.

Robert Folkes from Northwest Computer & Network Solutions will preview the new PC operating system. Chamber Executive Director Lance Evans says, “By all accounts, Microsoft hit a home run with Windows 7. This presentation (with sponsorship by Microsoft), will provide Windows users with insights into a vastly changed operating system.”

Attendance at the meeting is $10 for non-Chamber members. All in attendance will receive a $150 voucher towards a volume (5 or more computers) licensing purchase of Windows 7 .

Microsoft will be providing door prizes to the Orcas Chamber of Commerce as a way to say ‘thank you’ for attending. Chamber members in attendance will be eligible to win one of the following door prizes:

  • A Microsoft web camera
  • X-Box games
  • A wireless Microsoft Mouse
  • 1 copy of Microsoft Visio
  • 1 copy of Microsoft Office 2007 Pro
