From the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival Office

Summer is flying by, and the excitement is building for the fabulous Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival, August 12th through 27th.  There are 10 concerts over the      two-week period, at 7:30 pm and 5:00 pm, and now’s a great time to reserve your seats!  We want to let you know that there are more seats available to the 5:00 concerts, particularly the concerts on August 13th, August 17th, August 20th and August 24th.

The Festival features a grand mix of music:  two magnificent Beethoven Piano Trios,  two famous Brahms Quintets, music from Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet,” a taste of the tango, music by Gershwin and other timeless music that’s sure to please every patron.

Artistic Director Aloysia Friedmann and Artistic Advisor and pianist Jon Kimura Parker will welcome amazing musicians.  You’ll hear Canada’s celebrated Gryphon Trio and baritone Philip Cutlip, internationally known on opera stages of the world.  Returning Festival favorites are violinists Chee-Yun, Martin Chalifour and Martin Friedmann, as well as cellist Desmond Hoebig and clarinetist Owen Kotler.
